#124: This weekend, watch Iron Man 2!
Tuesday, January 11th, 2011Iron Man 2 is the second film about the Marvel Comics character Iron Man, who is also known as Tony Stark. Stark, a billionaire and arms manufacturer, constructed a powerful exoskeleton suit for himself and created his alter ego, Iron Man.
The blu ray DVDs set provides three different versions of the movie as well as an abundance of extras.

The cool iron man!
In the first film, Stark designed and constructed his armored suit and used it to defeat first a group of terrorists and then his partner in the Stark Industries arms manufacturing company. At the end of the movie, Stark’s identity as the mysterious Iron Man was revealed to the world.
During the sequel, Stark must deal with the consequences of his public revelation. Although he has used his invention to maintain peace, he must fight against his own government as they attempt to claim the technology for themselves.
He must also cope with the gradual poisoning that he is suffering from the palladium arc reactor in his chest. This reactor powers his suit and keeps him alive, but he must find a substitute if he is to survive.
The second Iron Man movie has a very different feel to the first. There are still some amazing action sequences, but the idea of a comic book superhero dealing with the aftermath of his outing adds another dimension to this film.
Robert Downey Jr plays his part again as the title character, and is joined again by many of the actors from the first movie, including Gwyneth Paltrow, who plays Stark’s assistant, Pepper Potts. There are new faces in the cast too, including Scarlett Johansson who plays a woman with a dual identity, as Natalie and Natasha.
Iron Man 2 is available on both Blu-ray discs and DVDs. A set combining both Blu-ray DVDs and a digital copy of the movie is available, enabling the film to be viewed in any format.
The Blu-ray DVDs include a high definition Blu-ray version and a standard definition DVD of the movie. The digital copy of the film can be viewed on any computer or portable device.
The set comes on three discs that also include a huge selection of bonus features. Extra features on the disc include a film commentary by Jon Favreau, the S.H.I.E.L.D. Data Vault which includes extra information and interactive features and a selection of behind the scenes videos.
